Closing Down
Well…It’s time.
Ask Edd n Eddy, as some of you may recall, was intended to be a short-term project. It’s been almost a year now, and I think it’s time to say good-bye.
I loved running this blog along with my deviantART account, and I’ve learned so much in the process. It was a whole lot of fun while it lasted. But it’s time I move on and work in my own style with my own characters and concepts. I’m just not motivated to keep this up anymore.
I can’t thank all of you enough for the immense amount of support you’ve shown me. It was always encouraging to wake up and see new followers and favorites.
I won’t delete this blog because I still want my pieces to be accessed and viewed. But I’ll probably stop checking any new followers or reblogs.
Thank you all again, and I’ll miss you very much.

I’m still on hiatus, but I thought I’d share this to get some feedback and keep you folks updated.
First off, I’m not a cartoonist. I never have been and probably never will be. So when I sat down to try and develop my own cartooning style, it didn’t happen. I still relied too heavily on the EEnE style because that’s all I know. I enjoy drawing more realistically to a certain extent, so why fight what I’m naturally good at doing already?
It’s going to be a big jump for my followers who have stuck with me since the beginning of this blog, and it might be a disappointment to those who have just joined (thank you so much by the way!). But it just feels so much better for me to draw the way I love drawing, and while I’m flattered and love getting compliments about how I can mimic the EEnE style, it’s just that: mimicking. It’s fine if I’m doing one or two pieces to copy someone else’s style, but in the long run it doesn’t better me personally as an artist if I want to pursue my own style (this is a lot of repeat from my hiatus post).
So here is a compilation of some doodles I worked on during class today, trying to get the hang of translating Double D and Eddy into my style. I wanted to post this to get feedback from everyone on what you guys think. I’ll make a few design and anatomy tweaks and such but this is pretty close to what you’ll get. Double D needs a few more facial feature tweaks, but I’m damn happy with how Eddy looks. :B

On Hiatus
I have to do this again, and I’m sorry to leave everyone hanging. :<
I’ve got an 18 credit semester, an art sale, a table + panel at a convention, a new business, potential guests staying over, schoolwork + artwork, and finding myself to attend to first before I can get to this blog again. Not that any of this is a bad thing, oh no. Everything is going swell, so swell that I can’t handle it all at once. :p
Instead, I’m taking this as an opportunity to develop a my own cartooning style. While I love drawing in the EEnE style, it’s still copying and not natural. I take it as a huge compliment when someone tells me the work I do looks just like the show, but I find it more gratifying when someone compliments me on what I can do without copying someone else. The EEnE style influenced my sketches quite a bit, but I want to find my own style to continue the blog so it’s easier and more comfortable for me, and in the long run, more enjoyable.
I’ll plan to return around mid to late June, and hopefully you lovely folks will enjoy the new way I draw Double D and Eddy. :3 It might take a little adjusting to, but I hope you can continue to appreciate it.

I was supposed to post this last week but I had a lot of projects to finish over the weekend and time got away from me and what do you know? It’s already Wednesday. :I Oops.
Here is the long-awaited conclusion to Confessions. This was nice to do as my first completed comic, and it was a fun little comic to do at that. :3 Hope you all enjoyed it!
Part 2 of Pokemon Trainers.
Part 1 with Double D.
Eddy is always trying to play tough-guy and uphold this persona. I feel he would definitely gravitate towards any powerful-looking Pokemon that he could get on his team. It would be all about intimidation, strength and how awesome they look together.
Nidoking and Pinsir: Both look strong and intimidating and are tough opponents in battle. There’s not a whole lot else besides that.
Marowak: Marowak is a special exception to the big-and-bad team. When you read Cubone’s descriptions, he sounds a lot like Eddy: small and weak, but it tries to act tough and stand up for itself. By the time it evolves into Marowak, it’s gotten over the world and can fend for itself. I feel like Eddy could relate to this and would have a special place for it in his group.

These are just my opinions and what I think they would choose as their team. If anyone else has a better idea for a Pokemon team, I’d love to hear your ideas! :3

I’ll confess that I’m only familiar with the first two generations of Pokemon (I grew up with Yellow, Fire Red and Crystal) so I only picked Pokemon from those two sets. Also, I decided both Double D and Eddy are trainers.

Double D has a team of bug/grass Pokemon because he’s an avid collector and researcher of insects in the Ed, Edd n Eddy series as well as cultivating and caring for plants. I feel like he would shy away from Pokemon who are too powerful and intimidating, preferring ones that are naturally more gentle and easy-going.
Meganium: I’m one of those people who falls in love with their starter Pokemon and never takes them off of their team because they’ve had them the longest and trained them the hardest. I feel like Double D would be that way with his as well.
Butterfree and Bellossom: Both are gentle and sweet and probably very interesting to observe and research, but I imagine they can also be quite strong in battles especially under Double D’s care and devotion.

Ask box open!
Hello my fellow shippers.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to post because I’m dying under the strain of trying to finish my finals these last two weeks, and I haven’t had time to sketch anything.
So, by way of apology, I’m opening up the ask box to hopefully give me some fresh inspiration. :3 I’ll definitely have something new on December 17th if not sooner.
While I love getting these types of requests, doing it for 3 - 5 posts or so gets a little draining. So although it’d be entertaining, I’m only going to draw this once. :< Sorry to disappoint but I don’t want to fall farther behind. I need to simplify where I can.
So we’ve got at least one cute puppy dog. Sorry Eddy, you need to try a little harder. And wipe your mouth please, you’re embarrassing us. :I

Let me tell you, this has been the worst semester I’ve had so far, and I’m so glad it’s almost over. I think I finally got a grasp back on life, so I’m going to start posting again.
I’ll update every Monday with your questions and requests. For now, I’m keeping the Ask box disabled until I can answer a few leftover questions that I really wanted to get to. No comics, challenges or complex projects until December when school’s out. ♥
HIATUS
I really hate to do this, but I’m going on a hiatus until November.
I know I left you guys hanging with the comics but I just can’t find the time to work on Ask Edd n Eddy on top of school plus a HUGE project that I need finished by December. :< I may post something occasionally if I can but don’t expect it.
I love you guys and all of the support you’ve given me this summer. ♥ It means so much to me, and it’s extremely encouraging. I’ll be back around November 10 if all goes well.

Quick sketch before bed. I’ve decided this week will be Max and Madison week. This time, also featuring crazy Uncle Ed. :p Double D is the sole reason he doesn’t look completely like a hobo.
Double D and Eddy are super busy with work and don’t have time to answer your questions. So we’ve got Madison and Max filling in for them! :D
I know I said I’d post the last page of Confessions last Saturday. It’s halfway done, but I’ve been too busy to finish it. School is consuming, and I’ve been working on some MLP crafts I’m trying to sell. =_= My apologies. I’ll try and get it posted on Sunday.
